If for some reason, you have not read Junot Díaz's novel 'The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" - please, I implore you, go now and read it. This glorious work of story-telling, which won both the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, is a work of craft, a window into stories big & small, a mash-up of genres that strike sparks - and a great tale of a fat Dominican teenage nerd.
Trust me - if you read one novel about a fat Dominican teenage nerd, this is the it.
If you want to learn more about Dominican-American author Junot Díaz, this WSJ piece is quite good. Nt as good as the novel, but a good process story.
Thanks Bob. I'm always looking for good fiction.
