
Paul Fromberg was born December 21, 1960 in Houston Texas. Before
answering the call of God to serve the church in ordained ministry, his
vocational aspirations were in art, architecture, theater and design. He
studied art in college before turning his academic attention to the study of
psychology and religion. Paul holds a masters degree in marriage and family
counseling, but has never worked as a licensed professional counselor.
Paul priestly ministry has been exercised in the Diocese of Texas at Christ
Church Cathedral (where he took on every job from part-time youth minister
to the acting dean) and St. Andrew’s Church and School (where he served as
rector).
Paul has served on many committees in the Diocese of Texas. Paul is the
co-founder and president of Sophia Network – a national liturgical
consultancy.
In addition to his ministry in the Diocese of Texas and Sophia Network, Paul
has worked with Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, Trinity Church Wall Street,
The Ministries with Young People cluster of the National Church, The
Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Washington DC, The Benedictine
Experience in New Harmony, Indiana, and the Dioceses of Washington,
Louisiana, and West Texas. Most recently, he was the keynote speaker for
the National Association of Episcopal Christian Educators annual meeting in
San Diego.
Paul now serves as the Associate Rector for Youth and Family at St. Gregory
of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco.
Paul is a writer, having worked on the major teaching series for seekers in
the Diocese of Texas. Paul is a visual artist, most recently working in
large format art for churches. In 2003 his work “Diesis” was exhibited at
Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. He enjoys cooking, gardening, and enjoying
life and love with his spouse, Grant Martin.
