I love music - almost all genres, vocals or not, pop or abstract.  I just love music.

And I find a great deal of resonance in the idiom of remix, an alternative version of a song, different from the original version. 

Indaba Music is a place for musicians to find one another, create and remix music, and showcase their work. The site includes an online session console, a search capability to find musicians around the world, and a platform to blog about new creations.

Indaba sponsors contest for remixers, connecting them with artists from a variety of genres.  Right now, they are running a contest with Yo-Yo Ma

Ma recorded the melody of the traditional song, "Dona Nobis Pacem (Give Us Peace)", then made the component parts available for artists to remix or build upon.  The winner will have the opportunity to record with Yo-Yo Ma in a special one-on-one collaboration.  You can go vote here.
