My old hometown paper has a solid piece on David Crowder and his merry pranksters. They will be in town tomorrow evening.
I must cop to very conflicting feelings about the man with projectile hair and his band. On the one hand, I adore the music, have bought most every set when it came out and have cherished seeing him live a few times. I would consider myself a fan of the band.
On the other, when I see the phrase:
the group that the MSN network said "single-handedly redefined what contemporary Christian music should sound like"
Well, as Kate Veatch said in Dodgeball:
I just threw up a little bit in my mouth
***Note the origins of this phrase are in question
Contemporary, Christian, music.
Those 3 words are so complex in their impact on me and other schmoes who have grown up in the churchianity bubble, particularly the product-pushing, conference-going, rock star-loving, cigar-smoking, SUV-driving set - well, suffice to say that more & more I understand the choice of my brother Bill's church that they do not allow amplified music in church.
The sad part - I am looking for people to go see this group -- the very one that the MSN network said "single-handedly redefined what contemporary Christian music should sound like"-- tomorrow night.
I gotta find a shrink, a spiritual director and a parasitologist in this town. Until that happens, or the rapture erupts, this will have to do:
MacDue provide complete turnkey production lines and really do have the most technologically advanced machinery of it’s type
